Item - Formal Buffet Description - We are very happy to present this stunning SOLID teak buffet designed Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen and manufactured by Søborg Møbelfabrik. This prolific design duo produced some of the most interesting and functional Danish furnishings of the 1940s & 50s...with this sublime piece of craftsmanship being no exception. Taking design cues from the American Shaker movement and adding their own Danish sophistication, Hvidt and Mølgaard-Nielsen produced designs that are elegant, formal, and functional. This buffet retains all qualities. Solid construction through and through, visible joinery to the edges, lower support braces to the legs....all hallmarks of thoughtful Hvidt design. Tambour doors reveal ample storage to the interior with adjustable shelving. Five drawers to the right allow for storage of fine silver, linens, etc. The top drawer is lined in green felt. Measures 65.25" long, 19" wide, and 34" tall. Hivdt cabinetry is prized for its attention to detail, quality construction, and overall beauty. We agree! Condition - Superb vintage condition with few flaws. Some minor expected wear to the surface but nothing egregious. No breaks, cracks, etc. Tambour doors move freely.
